PTI to launch new movement focused solely on Imran Khan’s release: Asad Qaiser

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and former Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, on Thursday announced that the party is planning a new and different course of action, with the sole objective of securing the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Asad Qaiser emphasized, ‘This time, we will do something new and different. Our goal is clear-the release of Imran Khan. We have always favored dialogue, but the current government lacks real authority.’

He added that the protest movement’s initial plan has already been shared with key political figures including the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Mahmood Achakzai, and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He said the final approval will be given by PTI’s Political Committee, after which the movement will formally begin.

‘The first and foremost goal of this campaign is the release of Imran Khan, and we will organize our protests while keeping the prevailing conditions in mind,’ he stated.

In a related development, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, remarked that the upcoming movement would be a decisive one. ‘This time, it’s do or die,’ he said.

‘We will not make our plan public. Whether I dig a trench or tunnel, no one will know where I’m coming from. We will mobilize the public from across the country,’ he added.

Gandapur accused state institutions of operating under a single agenda: ‘Eliminate Imran Khan, eliminate PTI.’ He asserted, ‘They cannot destroy us. Instead, we will end the mafia that has held this country hostage for 78 years and achieve true freedom.’

He further declared, ‘This time we will come prepared to defend ourselves. My religion and the constitution both allow self-defense. If they fire bullets at our chests, our bullets will tear through their backs.’

When asked whether he supports protests against the Army Chief in the United States, Gandapur responded, ‘Imran Khan is our leader and our patron-in-chief. Forget other names. If overseas Pakistanis want to protest in the US for Imran Khan, that is their right, and we fully support them.

Not just in the US-wherever in the world protests happen for Imran Khan, we stand with them. Overseas Pakistanis must raise their voices without fear because they cannot be shot at from here.’
