ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday elected Barrister Gohar Ali Khan as new chairman of the party.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was nominated by Imran Khan to contest for the top slot. PTI’s Chief Election Commissioner advocate Niazullah Niazi announced the results.
He said Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was elected unopposed following the intra-party election held on Saturday. Niazullah Niazi said that Omar Ayub Khan was elected as PTI’s central general secretary.
While, he said, Ali Amin Gandapur and Dr Yasmin Rashid were chosen as the party’s provincial presidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, respectively.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had directed the PTI to conduct intra-party polls.
