The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Pakistan, Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Alkharusi, met with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr to explore avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship for the mutual advantage of their countries.
President Zardari affirmed the strong bond between Pakistan and Oman, rooted in shared faith, cultural heritage, and principles. He suggested that increased high-level engagements would further solidify the positive relationship.
The President advocated for expanded commercial and financial partnerships. He expressed Pakistan”s eagerness to grow bilateral commerce and investments in sectors like information technology, infrastructure development, medical services, food security, and power generation. He stressed that government involvement would stimulate private sector collaboration, thus propelling trade and investment.
President Zardari thanked Oman for its backing of Pakistan’s successful bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for 2025-2026. He also acknowledged Oman”s hospitality towards the large Pakistani community residing there, recognizing their contributions to Oman”s progress and their role as a bridge between the two nations.
