KARACHI: President Dr Arif Alvi today held a meeting at Governor’s House on water related issues. Matters pertaining to K4 and TP-4 projects were discussed in details. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, MPA Halim Adil Shaikh, MPA Firdous Shamim Naqvi and a five-member team of experts from HUBCO attended the meeting.

The President expressed his concerns over water shortage in Karachi and directed to explore the possibilities of having a desalination plant, besides other necessary steps and arrangements. A team to put up a sustainable water solution was also formed for expert advise and implement the recommendations thereof.

A comprehensive brief was also shared with the president with reference to the available water resources, ongoing projects and in-coming schemes. The President was also briefed about possible installation of Reverse Osmosis plants in the targeted areas of the Sindh province including Karachi.
