The Power Division today declared that significant progress has been made in restoring electricity in flood-affected areas across the country, with emergency repair work under way and most feeders being gradually reconnected.

The ministry reported that restoration activities are being carried out on an emergency basis by teams from all DISCOs, the distribution companies responsible for regional supply. Those crews are working to re-energize lines and bring substations back into service after disruptions caused by recent flooding.

According to the statement, the bulk of feeders that had been taken out of commission are now in the process of being restored, reducing the geographic scope of outages and improving access to power for affected communities. The division characterized the situation as one of steady improvement but said work remains ongoing.

Energy officials emphasized the coordinated response by the sector’s field teams to prioritize critical circuits and accelerate reconnection where conditions allow. The focus, the division added, is on stabilizing supply and preventing further interruptions while repair crews continue assessments.

The update from the Power Division was carried by Radio Pakistan, which relayed the government’s assessment of the recovery effort in flooded regions.
