KARACHI: Karachi’s Sharafi Goth police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested an informer for signaling robbers as citizens leave a bank. According to police sources, Sharafi Goth police conducted a raid near Malir River on a tip-off. Illegal weapons along with ammunition and snatched mobile phones were recovered from the arrested accused. The arrested accused has been identified as Younis alias Lala.

During the arrest of the accused, he revealed that he was informing other members of the group. The arrested accused is a habitual offender. The accused has been jailed for serious offenses including robbery at various times since 1991. The police said that several cases of robbery against accused have been registered in Defense Police Station, Ferozeabad and Special Investigation Unit Saddar. A letter was issued to other police stations in the city regarding the arrest of the accused. A case has been registered against the accused.
