Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif contacted Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik to address the nation’s disaster preparedness strategy in the face of ongoing heavy precipitation.
The NDMA chairman updated the prime minister on the current rainfall status across the country. Concerned about potential calamities, Sharif instructed Malik to maintain consistent communication with all provincial administrations, particularly those in mountainous regions, and to offer necessary aid.
The prime minister emphasized the importance of improved coordination between rescue organizations, local authorities, and provincial administrations. He also mandated the dissemination of weather updates to the public via mobile phone alerts.
