PM Aide Announces Creation of Complaint Redressal Portal for EDB

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, today announced the creation of a Complaint Redressal Portal for the Engineering Development Board (EDB) during his visit to the organization’s Islamabad office today.

Khan, received by EDB CEO Khuda Bux, toured the facility, assessing infrastructure including safety measures and emergency exits. He stressed the importance of digitizing EDB operations, stating that the entire system must be brought online.

Khan emphasized Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s objective of a transparent, merit-based structure, highlighting the EDB’s crucial function in boosting engineering sector growth and exports. He acknowledged public misgivings about the EDB, suggesting that merit and openness could alter these views. He urged the development of an institution that aligns with global benchmarks.

The redressal portal, along with a dedicated committee, aims to address public grievances regarding the EDB. Mr. Khan affirmed his personal oversight of the EDB”s efficacy, advocating for outcome-focused programs executed transparently, mirroring practices in developed nations. He concluded by highlighting the significance of collaborative efforts for organizational advancement, stating that progress relies on shared dedication and a unified perspective.
