Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has called for immediate socio-economic measures in conflict-affected areas, with a particular focus on Balochistan, as part of a broader counterterrorism approach under the revised National Action Plan 2021.

While chairing the second Steering Committee meeting on the socio-political domain in Islamabad, the minister highlighted the need for civilian institutions to align their efforts with security forces to address ongoing challenges.

He pointed out that sustainable peace requires addressing root causes through development, education, and improved governance.

Iqbal urged the provinces to take full responsibility for implementing initiatives in their respective regions, particularly those impacted by terrorism.

He stressed that national development is not possible without internal stability and called for inter-provincial collaboration and communication to ensure effective execution of the agenda.

The minister reaffirmed that this effort should be treated as a national priority, emphasizing a collective commitment from all provinces.
