Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to the United Kingdom and Europe have been reinstated thanks to the current administration’s endeavors, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar announced. Speaking to reporters outside Islamabad High Court on Friday, Tarar expressed gratitude that the flight resumption occurred under the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government. He attributed billions of rupees in losses at PIA to reckless pronouncements by a former government.
Tarar also addressed the Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company case, stating he presented his stance to the court and requested the company”s restoration to protect the jobs of its over 300 personnel. He clarified that the dissolution proceedings began before his tenure. The court, he added, mandated a business plan submission and instructed the liquidator to disburse employee wages.
Responding to a separate inquiry, the minister criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, citing rampant corruption and mismanagement leading to their failure to rescue tourists stranded in the Swat River.
