PhD scholars at IIUI showcase innovative digital portfolios on tech integration in education

The Department of Teacher Education at the Faculty of Education, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), recently conducted an inspiring Digital Portfolio Presentation Session for their PhD candidates. These scholars, currently enrolled in the “Technology in Teacher Education” course, showcased their innovative use of technology in the educational landscape under the guidance of Dr. Fouzia Ajmal.

The enlightening session commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, setting a respectful tone for the proceedings. A welcome address followed, outlining the objectives of the assignment and the criteria for evaluation. Each doctoral student shared insights from their digital portfolios, which included comprehensive overviews of course content, demonstrations of cutting-edge educational tools, and a variety of multimedia components like instructional videos and infographics. After each presentation, a lively interactive Q and A session allowed for academic discourse and constructive peer evaluations.

Esteemed faculty members such as Dr. Zarina Akhtar, Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, and Dr. Asad Abbas Rizvi, among others, meticulously reviewed the presentations. They commended the students for their analytical approach and practical application of necessary skills for modern educational environments. The faculty highlighted the students” adept use of digital tools tailored to the local educational sphere, demonstrating a strategic blend of theory with practice.

Dr. Azhar Mahmood, the Incharge Programs at the Faculty of Education, lauded the initiative, emphasizing its role in preparing future educators to thrive in digital learning settings. Dr. Fouzia Ajmal reiterated that the assignment served as both an evaluative and a developmental tool, aimed at fostering professional assurance and reflective practices among the scholars.

Dr. Muhammad Munir Kayani, Chairperson of the Department of Teacher Education, recognized the collaborative efforts of both students and faculty. He stressed the significance of cultivating educators capable of adapting to the shifting requirements of modern classrooms.

This session exemplified IIUI”s commitment to elevating academic standards, fostering teaching innovation, and advancing digital competence among the next generation of education professionals.
