People suffer as govt failed to drain out floodwater from farmlands: Haleem

KARACHI: Leader of Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has said that people of Sindh are suffering a lot as incompetent provincial government of Sindh has failed to drain out floodwater from farmlands even after passage of two months, adding people say they don’t want aid but stagnant water should be pumped out of their villages and farmlands.

According to details, Haleem Adil Sheikh visited the flood hit areas of Hyderabad and Tando Allahyar. He was escorted by PTI leaders Ali Palh Advocate, Lala Aminullah Moosa and local leaders. He visited different areas of Tando Allahyar through boats and asked from people if they had gotten any government relief. People complained a lot of lack of basic facilities and non-supply of relief.

Expressing his concerns on poor situation, Haleem Adil said after passing of even two months there is no any betterment. He said not only in Tando Allahyar but in whole Sindh in inundated in floodwater. He said people use boats for going from one place to other. He said there is nothing named government in Sindh.

He said ‘minister for system’ in Sindh appears on television daily and tells lies about distribution of relief goods. He said dengue, malaria, typhoid and other diseases are spreading fast but there are no doctors and medicines. He said a big disaster in shape of diseases is looming large.

He said draining out of water from affected areas is yet to begin. The government machines are working on farmlands of fuedal lords belonging to the ruling parties. He said in Sindh there is state within state of Zardari. He said Sindh needs a real independence. He said our Caption would announce a real independence march this week and soon the PTI would form government with two-third majority.

Earlier, addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, he said after one and half months he is now in field. He said Tapi was the first minister of system in Sindh and now information minister is the new minister of system. He said billions of ruppees were generated on call of Bilawal Zardari but not a penny was given to the poor masses. He said Sindh was inundated artificially. He said Sindh irrigation department is given on contact.

He said Jam Khan is only symbolic minister while real power are in the hand of some other person. He said LBOD is a white elephant. He said natural waterways are blocked due to illegal encroachments. He said CM Murad failed to take quick decisions on Manchhar Lake flooding. He said this is the last turn of Zardari government.

Haleem Adil said people of Sindh should support Imran Khan. He said absconder Ishaq was allowed to flee and later allowed to return. He said in the same manner Nawaz Sharif would also return as prosecutors are not fighting their cases.

Earlier, Haleem Adil Sheikh presented him before a court in a fake corruption cases lodged against him by the Sindh government. However, the government lawyer sought more time in case and the court showing displeasure on government lawyer adjoined the case to November 12.

Talking to media outside the court, Haleem Adil said we respect law and courts. He said Imran Khan also presented himself before court and apologized. He said more than 27 fake cases were lodged against him (Haleem Adil) because he raised voice against the government’s corruption.
