Parliamentary delegations from more than a dozen countries have arrived in the capital ahead of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference, a major international gathering set to officially commence tomorrow with a focus on global peace, security, and development.

According to an official report today, so far, representatives from Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Palestine, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan have reached the city. Delegations from Morocco, Maldives, Barbados, Kenya, Serbia, the Philippines, and Rwanda are also confirmed to have arrived for the event.

The conference, organized by the Senate of Pakistan, will feature keynote addresses from Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani is slated to chair the proceedings. He is also scheduled to conduct bilateral meetings with various participating delegates during the conference.

The event is being presented as a demonstration of Pakistan”s role in global parliamentary affairs and aims to underscore the nation”s commitment to international peace and mutual cooperation.
