The Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights (PCCR), spearheaded by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and led by Convenor Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, is preparing to host the closing ceremony of its national initiative, ‘Addressing Pakistan’s Education Crisis: Enhancing Parliamentary Engagement on Out-of-School Children,’ on Monday, 26 May 2025, at the Parliament House in Islamabad.

The ceremony will introduce a pivotal report titled ‘Parliamentary Engagement for National Strategy on Education Emergency,’ which proposes locally-informed solutions to tackle the pressing issue of over 26 million out-of-school children in Pakistan. This report is a product of thorough community consultations across all four provinces and underscores Parliament”s renewed focus on educational equity following the National Education Emergency declared in 2024. The event will be attended by prominent federal and provincial lawmakers, Government officials, and civil society partners.
