General Assembly Meeting of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) at the National Assembly of Pakistan has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative aimed at combating technology-facilitated gender-based violence (TFGBV).

Under the leadership of Dr. Shahida Rehmani, Secretary of WPC, the assembly convened at the Parliament House in Islamabad, drawing a substantial turnout of its members, underscoring their steadfast commitment to women”s empowerment and pressing health issues, according to official information today.

The highlight of the session was an extensive briefing from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) regarding Pakistan”s first-ever National Strategy on TFGBV. This strategy, formulated in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Rights, seeks to tackle one of the most intricate human rights and governance challenges, particularly afflicting women and girls. The initiative was a focal point of discussion, with members engaging in a comprehensive dialogue on global policy trends, content moderation strategies, and the legislative oversight required to address this issue effectively.
