Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, issued a stark warning that Pakistan’s territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens are paramount and will not be compromised, as he addressed mounting regional security challenges, including cross-border terrorism and hybrid threats, during a high-level national security forum.

During an interactive session with participants of the National Security Workshop-27 (NSW-27) at the General Headquarters (GHQ), Field Marshal Munir provided a comprehensive overview of a fluid regional landscape shaped by rising geopolitical competition. He affirmed that Pakistan’s Armed Forces, intelligence agencies, and law-enforcement institutions continue to operate with professionalism and resolve to safeguard the nation.

Describing Pakistan as “a country of consequence,” the Army Chief asserted that the nation is destined to achieve its rightful place within the global community. He referenced the military’s performance during Operation Marka-e-Haq, noting that their dedication and operational capability elevated Pakistan’s international stature. He stressed that national unity remains the country’s strongest asset against hostile designs.

The delegates were also briefed on national initiatives designed to bolster internal stability. These efforts include countering smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and organized criminal networks through strengthened border controls and the repatriation of illegal foreigners to fortify domestic security.

Reaffirming the Army’s core commitment, Field Marshal Munir reiterated his full support to federal and provincial governments. He emphasized that sustainable peace, stability, and prosperity require cohesive national efforts and strong institutional collaboration.

The NSW-27, organized by the National Defence University (NDU), is a premier forum that convenes parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials, academics, and civil society representatives for high-level strategic engagement.
