Pakistan’s HC to Bangladesh visits Rajshahi

Islamabad:High Commissioner for Pakistan to Bangladesh Imran Ahmed Siddiqui visited Rajshahi, Bangladesh and engaged in productive discussions with local officials, experienced the cultural heritage and attended an exciting under-19 T20 cricket match between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The visit was aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and promoting trade and commercial cooperation to the mutual benefit of the two countries, according to a press release received here on Thursday from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

During his stay, the High Commissioner visited the iconic Bangladesh Police Academy, Sardah, Rajshahi. Formerly known as the Police Training College, the academy, established in 1912, holds significant historical importance as a premier institution for training officers in South Asia.

The High Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the academy for hosting him and engaging in constructive discussions aimed at exploring the possibility of cooperation between Bangladesh Police Academy and the National Police Academy of Pakistan.

During visit to the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), the High Commissioner held fruitful discussions on promoting commercial ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner thanked the RCCI President Masudur Rahman Rinku and other members of the Chamber for the warm reception and evincing keen interest in exploring opportunities for economic cooperation between the two countries.

The High Commissioner also watched the T20 International match between the under-19 teams of Pakistan and Bangladesh and distributed prizes among the teams and players as Chief Guest of the awards distribution ceremony.

While interacting with the young players of Pakistan and Bangladesh, he appreciated the performance of both the teams. The High Commissioner congratulated the Pakistan Junior Shaheens for their victory in the only T20 match and commended the Bangladesh Cricket Board for their hospitality and gracious hosting of the event.
