Provincial Ministers in Sindh, Pakistan, declared that Kashmir will achieve freedom by August 5, 2026, citing a recent military victory against India.
Speaking at a Kashmir Exploitation Day rally in Karachi, Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani, and Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah attributed the anticipated success to the leadership of Field Marshal General Asim Munir and the diplomatic efforts of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. They asserted that India has been internationally humiliated and is now considering dialogue on Kashmir after facing defeat by Pakistani forces.
The rally, which proceeded from Peoples Chowrangi to Mazar-e-Quaid, was attended by several officials including Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Saleem Baloch, Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi, and others. Participants waved Pakistani and Kashmiri flags, displayed portraits of Kashmiri independence advocates, and included a substantial student presence.
Saeed Ghani, Minister for Local Government, emphasized increased hope for Kashmir”s future compared to 2024, attributing this optimism to Pakistan”s military success on May 10. He stated that India”s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he referred to as the ‘butcher of Gujarat,’ is now compelled to contemplate negotiations on Kashmir. Ghani reiterated Pakistan”s unwavering support for the Kashmiri population and their right to self-determination.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Energy, Planning and Development, expressed confidence in the imminent end of oppression in occupied Kashmir. He credited the Pakistani army’s valor, divine support, and national unity for the recent triumph. Drawing parallels with the situation in Gaza, he urged international attention to the alleged atrocities in Kashmir.
Minister for Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah condemned August 5, 2019, as a dark day in Kashmiri history and criticized the United Nations for its perceived silence on the region”s struggles. He commended Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for highlighting India”s actions on the global stage.
Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Advocate Parvez Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Sindh government for its support and echoed the sentiment of enduring commitment to Kashmir. He condemned the revocation of Kashmir’s special status on August 5 and praised Pakistan’s military response to India”s “Operation Sindoor’. He concluded by affirming Kashmir”s allegiance to Pakistan.
