The Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Dr Musadik Malik, today finalized a substantial financial agreement with National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGCL) to bolster green initiatives throughout Pakistan.
This landmark deal, struck during a meeting with NCGCL CEO, Ammar Habib, aims to unlock up to Rs10 billion in green financing.
NCGCL, recently granted an AAA rating by PACRA, will facilitate this investment through a structured guarantee program. The company will assess projects to potentially provide guarantees for convertible bonds, hybrid financial instruments, and traditional loans. It will also reduce risk for equity investments in viable green enterprises.
This collaboration underscores the Ministry’s dedication to fostering climate-conscious entrepreneurship, especially among young innovators and women-led green startups.
Dr Malik praised the partnership as a significant advancement toward integrating green finance and engaging private sector participation in Pakistan”s environmental objectives.
