Minister Vows to Advance Science and Technology in Country

Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi, today pledged substantial governmental backing for the advancement of science and technology in the country.

This committement was made by him while speaking in a meeting with Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ihsanullah Kakar at the University of Loralai. The discussion centered on bolstering scientific education, research, and the integration of modern technologies. Magsi affirmed his commitment to fostering the growth of scientific disciplines at the institution.

The minister declared the government’s intention to provide comprehensive assistance for the establishment of advanced facilities dedicated to Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity at the university. He also announced plans to collaborate with the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) to develop state-of-the-art laboratories for nursing and allied sciences programs, ensuring their successful operation. Magsi emphasized that promoting scientific education will be instrumental in driving progress in regions like Balochistan.

Professor Kakar informed the minister about the university’s successful cultivation of olive trees across 200 acres, highlighting its dual significance for environmental conservation and addressing water scarcity. Lauding this endeavor, Magsi suggested that this olive plantation model could serve as a national blueprint.

The minister also committed to supporting water conservation initiatives in partnership with the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), reiterating the government”s focus on environmental protection and scientific progress. He expressed optimism that the collaboration between his ministry and the University of Loralai would create opportunities for higher education, research, and innovation in Balochistan.
