Pakistan Seeks OIC Support Against India’s Aggression in South Asia

A high-ranking parliamentary delegation from Pakistan, headed by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, briefed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states at the United Nations about the escalating tensions in South Asia.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former Foreign Minister and Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, vehemently dismissed India’s accusations linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam attack, underscoring the lack of credible evidence and investigation.

During the briefing, Bilawal condemned India”s military actions, including cross-border strikes, and described them as unjustified and harmful to civilians and infrastructure. He expressed alarm over India”s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, criticizing it as a violation of international obligations and a dangerous precedent.

The former Foreign Minister commended the OIC for its efforts towards de-escalation and emphasized the need for dialogue and diplomacy. He also called for the restoration of the Indus Waters Treaty and a comprehensive dialogue with India, focusing on resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

Bilawal acknowledged the OIC”s role as a moral compass during these challenging times and urged continued support for the rights of the Kashmiri people. Meanwhile, OIC representatives expressed solidarity with Pakistan and highlighted the urgency of upholding international law, including the sanctity of treaties like the Indus Waters Treaty. They welcomed Pakistan”s dedication to peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy, particularly concerning the Jammu and Kashmir issue.
