Pakistan Moves to Integrate Private Sector Proposals into New National Industrial Framework

The federal government has initiated measures to incorporate private sector recommendations into a comprehensive national policy framework, aiming to bolster industrial growth and improve Pakistan’s competitive edge in the region.

The directive came from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as he chaired the first review meeting of the Private Sector Committee on National Industrial Development in the capital today. The Prime Minister emphasized that facilitating business and boosting investment are the administration”s foremost priorities, stating that national economic expansion is not achievable without a robust industrial sector.

He asserted that job creation and increased public income are directly contingent upon industrial progress. Prime Minister Sharif acknowledged the Pakistani business community for its support of government policies during challenging periods, crediting their assistance in helping the country navigate economic crises.

While noting the country”s economic direction has improved and is on a path to development, he cautioned that further dedicated effort is required for national advancement.

During the meeting, policy recommendations were presented to enhance Pakistan”s industrial capacity and attract greater investment. A comparative analysis with regional countries was also shared to highlight opportunities for improving the competitiveness of local industry.

The Prime Minister commended the proposals and instructed the relevant authorities to integrate them with recommendations from other economic sectors. He further directed officials to conduct a detailed review and prepare a formal plan for their implementation.
