A two-day Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum commenced at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad today, with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar underscoring Pakistan’s potential to become a global mining powerhouse.
He emphasized the country’s strategic position and its vast geological resources, including the monumental reserves of Reko Diq and a wealth of rare earth elements, industrial minerals, and gemstones such as peridote and emerald.
Dar articulated that with its untapped mineral potential, Pakistan is poised to reshape global supply chains and attract substantial foreign direct investment. The government, he outlined, is prioritizing the strategic development of the mining sector through progressive policy reforms and initiatives aimed at investors, creating a robust ecosystem that delivers value for all stakeholders.
The forum serves as a unique platform for stakeholders, partners, and friendly countries to explore new opportunities and build mutually beneficial partnerships.
In a discussion session, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal highlighted Pakistan’s attractiveness as a destination for mineral investment, noting the high potential of the country’s resources to draw interest from both local and international companies.
