Pakistan has vehemently denounced the Israeli parliament’s attempt to claim “sovereignty” over the Occupied West Bank, calling it a blatant breach of international law.

The Foreign Office, in a statement issued Friday, declared the move a serious infringement on Palestinian rights and international norms.

This provocative measure underscores Israel’s persistent efforts to undermine peace initiatives and solidify its unlawful occupation, the statement argued. This unilateral action represents a dangerous escalation, threatening regional stability and the possibility of a just and lasting resolution.

Pakistan urged the international community to hold Israel responsible for violating UN Security Council resolutions and humanitarian law. The nation emphasized that these actions will not be acknowledged and will not change the internationally recognized status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as per UN resolutions.
