Pakistan today vehemently condemned the deeply offensive intrusion of Al-Aqsa Mosque by a multitude of Israeli settlers, including high-ranking government ministers, officials, and members of the Knesset, under the protection of Israeli occupying forces.
The Foreign Office released a statement expressing its strong disapproval. The attendance and pronouncements of senior Israeli officials, including the inflammatory claim that “the Temple Mount is ours,” represent a perilous and calculated attempt to incite religious tensions globally, heighten existing tensions, and modify the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Israel”s expansionist endeavors are a deliberate attempt to destabilize the area and undermine any meaningful path towards peace. These incitements risk sparking a devastating escalation of violence throughout the region. Global powers must not remain passive in the face of such systemic, illegal, and inhumane aggression. Such acts constitute a clear violation of international human rights and humanitarian laws, the UN Charter, and various UN and OIC resolutions.
The international community, particularly the United Nations, is urged to take swift and tangible action to hold Israel responsible for its unlawful actions. It must safeguard the religious sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and protect the rights of the Palestinian populace, especially their right to self-determination.
Pakistan reiterates its unwavering support for the establishment of a sovereign, independent, viable, and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
