Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of bolstering the partnership between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

During a meeting with Dr. Abdul Fayez Muhammad Khalid Hossain, Bangladesh’s Adviser on Religious Affairs, in Islamabad, the Prime Minister conveyed his contentment with the growth of the two nations” relationship, including interpersonal connections, scholarly collaborations, and commercial interactions.

He acknowledged the strong foundation of the Pakistan-Bangladesh relationship, built upon shared historical experiences, cultural bonds, and family connections. Recalling his previous encounters with Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, in New York and Cairo, Sharif commended Yunus”s leadership in poverty reduction and his commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh relations.

Sharif expressed optimism for continued high-level exchanges between the two countries to maintain the current positive momentum. He reiterated his invitation to the Chief Advisor for an official visit to Pakistan. A reciprocal invitation was extended to the Prime Minister on behalf of the Chief Advisor and the Bangladeshi government. The two sides also explored the possibility of reinstating direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
