Pakistan And Trkiye Reaffirm Strong Bond At Geneva Conference

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Grand National Assembly of Trkiye Speaker Prof Dr Numan Kurtulmus on Wednesday reaffirmed the strong relationship between their nations during a meeting at the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva. Sadiq emphasized the deep historical ties, shared trust, and common goals that underpin the Pakistan-Trkiye partnership.

He highlighted recent high-level discussions between the two countries’ leaders, which have bolstered collaboration in areas like commerce, defense, technological advancements, and cultural interactions. Sadiq also noted the mutual aid provided during natural calamities, demonstrating the strength of their bond.

Sadiq conveyed greetings from Pakistan’s parliament and citizens to Trkiye’s people and administration. He stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering closer ties, citing exchanges through Parliamentary Friendship Groups and cooperation in international bodies like the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).

The two leaders discussed pressing regional and international matters. Sadiq commended Trkiye’s stance on critical issues affecting the Muslim world, particularly its support for Palestinians and those in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
