Pakistan and Trkiye have taken a significant step forward in bolstering their bilateral relationship, focusing on energy and mineral cooperation. Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik met with Irfan Neziroglu, Trkiye”s Ambassador to Pakistan, to discuss joint ventures in offshore and onshore exploration and critical minerals.
Minister Malik expressed deep appreciation for Trkiye”s support during the IndiaPakistan conflict, emphasizing the enduring friendship between the two nations. He conveyed gratitude on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting President Erdogan”s open affection for Pakistan.
Ambassador Neziroglu reiterated Trkiye”s commitment to Pakistan, emphasizing the longstanding brotherhood. He praised Pakistan”s responsible handling of regional tensions and noted the younger generation”s renewed understanding of shared historical ties.
The meeting underscored the potential for expanded cooperation in the petroleum and mineral sectors. Turkish Petroleum Corporation has been provisionally awarded two onshore blocks in Pakistan, with plans for further collaborations in upcoming offshore projects in 2025.
