Islamabad: Pakistan and Australia have emphasized that dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law are crucial for achieving lasting peace, stability, and security. This assertion was made during a meeting between Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Australia's Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong, held on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum 2026 in Manila.
According to Radio Pakistan, the two leaders discussed the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Australia and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation, including through regular high-level engagement. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments and expressed concern over recent escalations in the region.
The Australian Foreign Minister recognized Pakistan's constructive role in promoting dialogue and de-escalation, underscoring the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing regional challenges.
