Pakistan, Afghanistan Commit to Strengthen Diplomatic Ties

Pakistan and Afghanistan have pledged to strengthen diplomatic relations and establish mutual trust. This commitment was made during a telephonic conversation between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi.

Muttaqi welcomed Pakistan’s decision to elevate its diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan to the Ambassador level, describing it as a constructive step in bilateral relations. He confirmed that Afghanistan intends to match this move.

The leaders highlighted the significance of the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Line Project in enhancing regional connectivity. They agreed to collaborate closely to finalize the framework agreement for the project promptly.

Additionally, Dar and Muttaqi reviewed the progress on decisions made during Dar”s visit to Kabul in April, underscoring the ongoing commitment to strengthening ties.
