Pakistan activates crisis management unit to safeguard its nationals in Iran

Pakistan on Friday activated its crisis management unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) to safeguard its nationals and religious pilgrims in Iran.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced the initiative, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the well-being of Pakistani citizens and Zaireens during their stay in the volatile area.

The unit will operate continuously, coordinating closely with the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran to ensure that comprehensive assistance and support are readily available. Dar detailed these measures in a recent statement on his social media platform, highlighting the proactive steps being taken by the government.

In addition to setting up the crisis unit, the embassy has been instructed to enhance its services for Pakistanis in Iran. This includes the activation of a hotline, available at (0098)-2166941388, to address any concerns or emergencies that citizens might encounter.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Office has issued a cautionary notice to Zaireens planning visits to Iran and Iraq. They are urged to reassess their travel plans in light of the escalating security issues in these countries. This advisory seeks to prevent Pakistani pilgrims from becoming inadvertently caught in potentially dangerous situations.

The establishment of the crisis management unit and the ongoing advisories reflect Pakistan”s proactive stance in prioritizing the safety of its citizens abroad, particularly in regions experiencing instability.
