Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and former Pakistani Ambassador to the US and China, Sardar Masood Khan, says that Pakistan is achieving significant diplomatic successes internationally, strengthening relations with both the US and China, while India’s aggressive behavior is damaging its reputation globally.
Mr. Khan revealed that the US has strongly warned India against any unprovoked hostility towards Pakistan. Expressing concerns about Pakistan’s western border, he alleged that India operates covert networks in Afghanistan, Iran, and Gulf countries, which are used for terrorism inside Pakistan. Evidence of these activities has been presented to the US and the United Nations.
He claimed that while India previously evaded responsibility for its terrorist acts, evidence of its involvement has now surfaced in countries like the US and Canada.
Regarding Pakistan’s relations with China and the US, Mr. Khan declared that Pakistan holds respect and recognition in China, and its constructive global role is evident. The recent visits of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to China demonstrate the strength of this relationship. Pakistan is also fostering diplomatic, economic, and trade relations with Russia.
Mr. Khan highlighted the Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan railway project, inaugurated by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Kabul, which aims to connect Russia to the Arabian Sea, potentially reshaping the region.
He explained that Pakistan’s strategic location, population, political influence, and nuclear capability give it a significant position in West Asia and the Middle East, leading to its current presidency of the UN Security Council.
He termed the relationship with China as “unbreakable” and anticipated further progress. New opportunities are also emerging with the US, particularly in sectors like mining, modern technologies, digital currency, and trade.
Mr. Khan stated that Pakistan’s young population, with 64% under the age of thirty, is its greatest strength, presenting a large market and investment potential, and expressed hope that the US would capitalize on this human and economic resource.
He also cited the inclusion of Afghanistan in the regional framework with China’s assistance and the establishment of a trilateral informal partnership between Pakistan, China, and Bangladesh as notable diplomatic achievements.
Commenting on the meeting between US Senator Marco Rubio and Ishaq Dar in Washington, Mr. Khan said that the US appreciates Pakistan’s mediation efforts regarding Iran. He revealed that during the Iran-Israel conflict, Pakistan acted as a communication channel between the US and Iran, demonstrating its role as a force for regional harmony.
