Pakistan Achieves Macroeconomic Stability Through Reforms: Khurram

Islamabad: Advisor to Federal Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad highlighted significant progress in Pakistan's macroeconomic stability, attributing it to prudent fiscal management and essential structural reforms. He made these remarks during the conclusion of a four-day National Tax Seminar, organized jointly by the Pakistan Tax Bar Association and the Lahore Tax Bar Association.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Advisor discussed Pakistan's improving macroeconomic outlook, the structural reform agenda, and the key priorities for the budget of fiscal year 2026-27. He also elaborated on the rollout of the country's New Tax Operating Model, noting that these reforms are gaining recognition through positive evaluations by international financial institutions, renewed access to international capital markets, and growing investor confidence.

The seminar included technical sessions on provincial sales tax, tax policy, and practical issues related to direct and indirect taxation. The Presidents of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association and the Lahore Tax Bar Association expressed appreciation for the government's ongoing engagement with the tax community. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue to develop a simple, transparent, technology-driven, and business-friendly tax system.
