Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today commended the police force for their role in upholding public order and executing numerous counter-terrorism operations nationwide.
In a statement commemorating Police Martyrs’ Day, he honored the courageous officers and personnel who diligently perform their duties, often separated from families, and make the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard law and order across the nation. He also acknowledged the sacrifices made by the families of these fallen officers.
The Prime Minister revealed that over 8,000 police officers and personnel have laid down their lives in the fight against terrorism, acting as the first line of defense and preventing countless children from becoming orphans. He emphasized that the Pakistan Police force has showcased its professional competence globally, evidenced by the accolades received at the recent World Police Summit 2025.
Sharif expressed encouragement regarding the integration of modern technology into policing for enhancing public safety and effectively preventing crime, stating that this advancement will significantly improve citizen security.
