KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput said that under the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource and Research Board, more that 470,000 youth have been trained in the province since 2008. He said this on Monday during a certificate distribution ceremony held at Institute of Business Management, Korangi. Through the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resources and Research Board 220 students were given certificates who have completed training under Institute of Business Management Korangi.
On the occasion Chief Secretary Sindh said while congratulating the students has said that at this time, the Digital Technology is the need of the hour. He further stated that the government of Sindh provides technical skills through this program, through which the youth get employment and freelancing opportunities.
Government of Sindh is working on skill development of youth, “We have to give skill to our youth which the market needs” he said. He further said that 60 percent of the country’s population consists of youth and we have to utilize them as per the modern needs. CS Sindh further said that the Information Technology has the potential to earn 10 Billion dollars in three to four years if we give incentives to the IT sector.
In the event, the president of the Institute of Business Management IoBM Talib Karim said that we must focus on developing the youth for they are our future. BBSHRRDB is a welcome step in providing avenues for the youth to learn skills in their fields of interest. Director CIT, IoBM, Dr. Imran Batada emphasized the hard work of the faculty who imparted career-oriented, industry-centric training to the students through the BBSHRRDB. He advised the youth to invest in themselves by enhancing their learning.
Shariq Ahmed, while sharing the philosophy of the program, said that it provides avenues for the youth to acquire skills and generate income so they may establish their start-ups. Ms. Uzma Ismail appreciated the efforts made by the training partners to make BBSHRRDB a success. She was hopeful that this program will continue to provide skills to the youth of Pakistan.
Secretary Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource and Research Board Shariq Ahmed speaking in the ceremony said that under BBSHRRDB 250 different types of courses and private institutions are being supported.
