ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Interior Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti on Saturday said Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will be assisted with all types of security to hold free, fair and transparent general elections in the country.
In a TV interview, he said that leaders of political parties including Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) have no threat. However, he said, JUI-F (Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal) chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman has got security concerns and he was provided security during his visit to Quetta.
To a question, he said nearly four hundred thousand illegal foreign nationals have been repatriated to their counties after expiry of voluntary deadline. He said everyone should get a visa before coming to Pakistan.
To another question regarding terrorism in the country, the caretaker Interior Minister said some illegal Afghan nationals were found involved in criminal activities. He said our law enforcement agencies (LEAs) are fully alert to defeat terrorism.
He said Indian RAW always tried to sabotage peaceful environment in Pakistan. However, our law enforcement agencies are fully alert to defeat terrorism in a befitting manner, he added.
