The National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has elected Syed Rafiullah as its new chairman. The unanimous decision came during a meeting held at Parliament House today.

The election process began with the Joint Secretary (Committees) of the National Assembly Secretariat explaining the protocol. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, a member of the National Assembly (MNA), nominated Rafiullah, which was supported by fellow MNA Mohammad Ilyas Choudhry. The committee then voted, unanimously approving Rafiullah”s appointment.

Following the vote, the Joint Secretary congratulated Rafiullah on behalf of senior parliamentary figures, including the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Secretary General, and pledged the secretariat”s full support to the committee”s operations.

The newly appointed chairman thanked committee colleagues for their confidence and promised to lead by consensus. Committee participants reciprocated their support for his legislative agenda. Dr. Tariq Fazal Ch., Chief Whip of the ruling party, and Mr. Aijaz Hussain Jhakrani, Whip of the PPPP, offered congratulations and pledged backing to the committee”s work.

Other MNAs present at the session included Nasir Iqbal Bosal, Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Mian Khan Bugti, Fateh Ullah Khan, Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Dr. Mahreen Razzaq Bhutto, Ms. Sofia Saeed Shah, and Mohammad Ilyas Chaudhry. Senior officers from the National Assembly Secretariat also attended.
