KARACHI: Members of the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC), headed by its chairman Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana and Environmental Expert Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi, visited Sindh Madressatul Islam University on Thursday.
It was the pre-accreditation/zero visit of the NAEAC for degree programs of the Department of Environmental Sciences of SMIU. In this connection a meeting was held at the Senate Hall of SMIU, which was chaired by Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai.
Dr. Imran Ali, Incharge Chairperson of the Department of Environmental Sciences, highlighted salient features and achievements of the department through a presentation, while chairman NAEAC, Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq A. Rajwana briefed about quality assurance and accreditation requirements of the NAEAC. Registrar Ghulam Mustafa Shaikh, Dean Faculty of I.T. Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmed Shaikh and Director ORIC Dr. Aamir Iqbal Umrani also attended the meeting.
Later on, the NAEAC members visited various sections of the university, where focal person Mr. Naeem Akhtar Samo and Departmental Coordinator Mr. Abdul Majeed Pirzada briefed them about research laboratory and other facilities available at the department. They also interacted with undergraduate students and faculty members of the department and discussed with them about quality education and facilities, being provided by the university.
