National Assembly (NA) Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed profound grief over the loss of life and devastation caused by monsoon rains, cloudbursts, and flash floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, with Buner district particularly hard hit. The tragedy was compounded by a helicopter crash in Bajaur during flood rescue efforts.

Sadiq described the calamities as a severe test of national resilience, calling for unity and cooperation. He offered condolences to the families of those lost in the floods and the crash, sharing their grief and assuring them of his support.

He urged federal and provincial authorities to implement rapid and coordinated relief and rehabilitation measures for the affected communities. He instructed relevant departments to bolster existing rescue operations and provide immediate aid to those stranded or impacted.

Emphasizing the escalating danger of climate change, Sadiq underscored the need for proactive steps to lessen the effect of future natural disasters. He called upon citizens, especially young people, to actively engage in relief work and fully back rescue personnel.
