NA Speaker Expresses Grief Over Flood Devastation, Lauds Relief Efforts

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday voiced profound sorrow over the widespread destruction inflicted by floods across Pakistan, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The Speaker also commended the ongoing rescue and relief initiatives, highlighting the swift response of the Pakistan Army and both federal and provincial agencies. He reassured the flood-stricken families that they would not face this adversity alone.

Sadiq paid tribute to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her active involvement in the crisis. Her visits to the affected areas have not only uplifted the spirits of relief workers but also provided comfort to the victims. The Speaker described her hands-on approach as an exemplary strategy that ensured timely aid to those in need.

In a gesture of solidarity, Sadiq announced plans to visit the regions along the River Ravi to meet with the victims firsthand. He emphasized that rehabilitating those impacted by the floods is a “national duty” that must be undertaken with unity and determination.

The Speaker also appealed to the international community for support in addressing the immense damage caused by the floods. He underscored the importance of a coordinated federal and provincial strategy to prevent future catastrophes of this magnitude.
