Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi today pledged to enhance the Pakistan Railways’ operational efficiency, addressing concerns raised in the National Assembly/

Responding to a Calling Attention Notice from legislators Syed Rafiullah and Shazia Marri, Abbasi confirmed that salaries and retirement payments are being disbursed on time.

However, the minister revealed a substantial Rs12.5 billion deficit hindering the provision of additional employee benefits. Abbasi stated that his ministry has engaged with the Finance Division to find a solution to this budgetary shortfall.
