Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry visited the University of Gwadar and the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute (PCTVI) on Wednesday, pledging support for their development and highlighting their crucial role in national progress.
He was accompanied by Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch and a federal parliamentary delegation, according to a statement from the port authority.
Chaudhry toured the facilities of both institutions and received briefings on their operations. A subsequent meeting at the Pak-China Institute, chaired by the minister, focused on addressing the institutions” challenges and opportunities. University of Gwadar Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed, presented an overview of the university’s performance, ongoing projects, faculty status, and educational standards.
Dr. Ahmed emphasized the significant contributions of the university and PCTVI to the region”s educational and technical advancement, but also highlighted administrative and academic hurdles requiring attention. The delegation expressed satisfaction with the institutions” progress and pledged full cooperation from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and other relevant departments.
Discussions centered on enhancing educational programs, providing modern technical training to local pupils, and promoting maritime-related studies. Chaudhry underscored the importance of higher education and technical training in Gwadar for national development, promising the ministry”s active involvement in creating opportunities for Gwadar”s youth. He even offered his own voluntary teaching services, along with ministry officials, in maritime disciplines.
