Pakistan’s highest-ranking military officer, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, praised China as a stabilizing influence in regional security during a ceremony commemorating the 98th anniversary of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). General Mirza, the chief guest at the Islamabad event, conveyed congratulations to the Chinese people, their military command, and all PLA personnel.
He acknowledged the PLA”s significant contribution, under President Xi Jinping”s guidance, to China”s economic progress and military advancement. The general emphasized the strong, enduring relationship between Pakistan and China, often described as an “Iron-clad brotherhood,” and reaffirmed Pakistan”s commitment to strengthening this bond in all areas.
General Mirza also reiterated Pakistan”s dedication to ensuring the safety of Chinese citizens working within Pakistan, furthering cooperation on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, bolstering defense partnerships, and fostering regional peace and growth.
