Federal Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has taken swift action regarding the declining state of employee housing provided to railway staff in Grades 1 through 4. The Railways Ministry stated that the minister has requested comprehensive reports from all Divisional Superintendents (DSs) concerning the residences’ current status. He also mandated immediate preparation of cost projections for renovations and restoration, with subsequent action to follow.
Abbasi stressed that all feasible amenities will be furnished to railway workers, characterizing them as the “backbone and driving force of Pakistan Railways.” He reiterated that the ministry’s primary focus remains the comfort and prosperity of its workforce.
