Medicine Shortage Woes Persist in Quetta Hospitals

Patients in governmentrun hospitals in Quetta continue to suffer due to severe shortages of essential medicines. This critical issue forces individuals to purchase drugs from external sources, such as pharmacies on Jinnah Road and Brewry Road.

Public hospitals, including Sandeman Provincial Hospital and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, are also grappling with significant delays in scheduling surgeries, leaving patients waiting for months. Despite the provincial government”s commitments to reform the healthcare system, substantial improvements remain elusive.

Moreover, outdated or malfunctioning testing machines at these facilities compel patients to seek diagnostic services at private laboratories. The ongoing challenges highlight a pressing need for decisive action to address the healthcare crisis in the region.
