MDA to provide 4,000 ready-made low-cost houses

KARACHI:Provincial Minister for Local Government and Housing Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said on Monday that 4,000 ready-made low-cost houses covering 250 acres would be provided in Scheme 45 of Tesar Town under Malir Development Authority. As per the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, a low-cost housing scheme for low-income people was inaugurated and started in the last few days, he said while addressing a ceremony. Shah also announced that the Sindh government would provide 3500 plots to the families of martyrs of Pakistan Army, Rangers, Police, and civil society. DG Malir Development Authority Muhammad Yasin Shar said: “Today is a historic day regarding MDA because today we are going to fulfill the dream of the poor people of their homes, and in the coming days, we are going to expand the scope of service to the public.”

Secretary MDA Muhammad Irfan while giving a briefing on this occasion said that one unit bungalows of 80, 100, 120 and 200 sq would be developed for low income people. He said that the construction work had already started on the site before the inauguration ceremony of this project, while work was also going on a priority basis regarding the installation of water, electricity, gas and street lights along with wide roads.
