Major Anti-Terror Operation Near Pakistan-Afghanistan Border Eliminates 47 Militants

Security forces neutralized 47 militants in a two-day operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Zhob District, Balochistan.

The operation, which took place in the Sambaza area, commenced on August 7 and concluded on August 9. Initially, 33 insurgents, categorized as khawarij by the army, were eliminated.

A subsequent sweep of the surrounding border region on the night of August 8 and into the early morning of August 9 resulted in the deaths of 14 additional combatants, reportedly connected to India-backed factions. A substantial stockpile of arms, ammunition, and explosives was confiscated.

The military reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the country’s borders and disrupting any efforts to undermine stability within Pakistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) emphasized the armed forces’ commitment to thwarting attempts to sabotage peace and progress.
