Lahore is set to emerge as a significant center for international diplomacy with the development of a new Diplomatic Enclave that has already attracted formal interest from global powers, including the United States, Trkiye, and China. This landmark initiative aims to redefine the city”s role on the international stage, positioning it as a key location for foreign missions in Pakistan.
According to information today, the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as CBD Punjab, recently convened an exclusive briefing session for honorary consuls general from over 20 countries to showcase the ambitious project. The gathering, held at the CBD Punjab Complex, included diplomatic representatives from nations such as Japan, Italy, Russia, South Africa, and the Netherlands.
CEO of CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, and COO Brigadier (R) Mansoor Janjua chaired the event, underscoring the high-level commitment to the project. The planned enclave, situated in the CBD Bab District, received formal approval from the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs two years ago, paving the way for a new era of international engagement in the provincial capital.
Spanning a vast 118 acres, the precinct is strategically located near the historic Bab-e-Pakistan, offering exceptional accessibility and prominence for diplomatic activities. During the session, Director of Business Development, Ali Waqar Shah, delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the development”s state-of-the-art infrastructure and strategic advantages for foreign missions seeking a secure and sustainable base.
Imran Amin, CEO of CBD Punjab, addressed the attendees, stating, “The Diplomatic Enclave is more than just infrastructure; it is a symbol of Pakistan’s openness to the world and our dedication to fostering international collaboration.”
He affirmed that the government-led initiative is being developed to global standards. “We are proud to welcome diplomatic missions from around the world to this landmark development that will redefine Lahore’s role on the international stage,’ he added.
