JI stages protest against price hike, unemployment

LARKANA: The activists of Jamaat Islami took out a rally and held a protest demo at Jinnah Bagh on Sunday against massive price hike, unemployment and interest-system. They were holding their party flags, large banners in their hands and shouted slogans in favour of their demands

While addressing the participants, their provincial Amir Hafiz Nasrullah Aziz, Qari Abu Zubair Jakhro, Ramiz Raja Shaikh and others said that the present provincial and federal governments are busy destroying the poor instead of ending poverty adding poor is afraid of taking breath because he fears it will also be taxed.

They said that there is neither proper justice system nor justice nor any relief for the poverty-stricken masses. They said money lending business has been flourishing without any check by the relevant authorities and the affected people are committing suicides which is shameful.

They said the country is passing through dangerous phase and ministers are busy filling their stomachs and collecting money to fight the next elections but ironically they disappear after getting votes from the people. The protesters further alleged that lawlessness has reached to a point where people are not safe even in their homes, control of towns and villages have been taken over by bandits and street crimes have increased to a very dangerous level but police and other law enforcement institutions are busy in unknown business.

They said that the poor are very upset for two meals. They said increase in gas and electricity rates, prolonged load shedding, frequent lockdowns, closure of schools and colleges have ruined the lives of common men and education but the governments are not willing to give relief to the people which is very unfortunate.

They demanded immediate control over price hike, lawlessness and elimination of money-lending businesses on huge interest or else, they warned, they will protest again along with other political, religious and social welfare organizations of the city.
