Central leader of the Jhalawan Awami Panel, Mir Nadeem-ur-Rehman Baloch, stated today that the long march and protest sit-in at Lakpass are being used to revive the politics of the Balochistan National Party (BNP) and its leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal.

While addressing a press conference, Mir Nadeem-ur-Rehman Baloch participated alongside other officials and workers of the Jhalawan Awami Panel. He said that women hold a dignified position in the tribal traditions of Balochistan. Therefore, the Jhalawan Awami Panel condemns the use of force against women. However, he also stated that exploiting women for political gain is equally condemnable.

He further mentioned that the principles and traditions of Balochistan allow women to participate in protest demonstrations. However, when force was used against Dr. Mehrang Baloch in Islamabad, BNP was part of the federal government. The then-Governor of Balochistan was also from BNP, but he did not resign.

Baloch said that the current protest sit-in at Lakpass is not aimed at protecting the honor of Baloch women, but rather to revive BNP’s politics. He accused BNP’s leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal of being involved in murder, abduction, rape, and extortion.

Referring to the martyrdom of Professor Ashiq Usman, he alleged that he was killed in Khuzdar by the men of Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal. Professor Usman rendered significant services for the promotion of education in Jhalawan.
